SilvaLuxe Experiences - About Page

Where the forest becomes medicine.

SilvaLuxe Experiences grew out of its founder's 25 years in corporate America and what she learned about the health benefits of spending time in nature.

Our Story

For 25 years, Wendy worked in corporate America, alongside some of the largest companies in the world across industries. She earned an MBA and built a career on precision, performance, and relentless delivery. Along the way, she saw firsthand how much that pace can cost the people inside high-pressure organizations.

That cost is real, and Wendy lived it. For long stretches she worked nearly 60 hours a week, often more, and her nervous system rarely got the chance to switch off. She experienced the health consequences of that sustained stress firsthand. So she set out to rebuild her health. She changed how she ate, took up meditation, and started moving again.

Wendy first learned about forest bathing while consulting in the healthcare industry. She saw its potential right away: a way to help keep people well instead of treating them only after they were already sick. She began spending more time in the woods and noticed the difference it made in her own health.

"The trees didn't ask anything of me. For the first time in years, I wasn't solving a problem. I was simply present. And something in me began to heal."

Only later did she learn the science. Research suggests that time among the trees may lower cortisol, ease blood pressure, support the natural killer cells the body uses to defend itself, and shift the body out of a constant stress response and into rest. What began as Wendy's own path back to health became the foundation of SilvaLuxe Experiences, created to help others reset their nervous systems, step out of corporate and life burnout, and return to their health by immersing themselves in the health benefits of the forest.

The Science of Forest Bathing

Forest bathing, known in Japan as Shinrin-yoku, is not a hike and it is not exercise. It is the intentional, mindful immersion in a forest, using all of your senses at a pace slow enough to let your nervous system finally settle.

Decades of research suggest that time in the forest may lower cortisol, ease blood pressure, support immune function, lift mood, and reduce the markers of chronic stress. For people carrying corporate burnout, compassion fatigue, or stress-related health struggles, the forest offers something a busy healthcare system rarely has the time to prescribe: time, stillness, and nature. It is preventative wellness in its most accessible form.

And you don't need a week away to feel it. One of the largest studies on nature and health, published in 2019, drew on nearly 20,000 people and found that spending at least two hours a week in nature was associated with significantly better health and wellbeing. It held true for older adults and for people living with long-term health conditions, and it did not matter whether those two hours came in one longer visit or several shorter ones. SilvaLuxe is built around exactly that dose. A two-hour guided forest bathing session, or a two-hour luxury picnic in the forest, gives you a full week's worth of nature in a single restorative experience.

Meet Your Guide

Wendy is a Certified Forest Bathing Guide, a seasoned corporate consultant, and an advocate for nature-based preventative wellness. With 25 years across Fortune-level enterprises and clinical healthcare systems, she brings a uniquely informed perspective to the forest floor.

Before guiding others into the forest, Wendy spent years designing software experiences where every detail was considered and function and elegance worked together. That same attention carries into SilvaLuxe. Every experience is curated with care, from the quiet of the setting to the pacing of a guided session.

Based in Murfreesboro, TN, she practices across the forested landscapes of Middle Tennessee, a region rich in hardwood canopy and creek valleys. She continues her consulting work in technology, healthcare, and AI advisory, and carries the discipline of those worlds into the design of every experience she creates.

Her certifications in CPR, AED, and Forest First Aid mean every experience is not only restorative, but safe.
